Mary and Mitch at the Washington Coast

For their engagement session, Mary and Mitch decided to spend an afternoon together at the Washington coast, something a little different from the Arizona desert they used to call home.

In true PNW fashion, it rained through the entire shoot, but it made the beach all the more magical. After just five minutes of trying to take photos with the umbrella, these two decided to embrace the rain instead. They ran through the waves, climbed on top of driftwood, and let their hair and clothes get soaked in the rain without a worry in the world.

I truly felt like a third wheel this day, and I loved every minute. After a few minutes of directing them, it seemed like they hardly needed me to help them at all. Instead of a photoshoot, it was like I was just on another one of their dates, watching from afar — just the way all of these shoots should be.
