Ellen and Kevin’s Wedding at El Rey Court

For their wedding day, Ellen and Kevin brought all of their friends and family to a little inn in Santa Fe called El Rey Court. As I walked around the inn that morning, you could immediately feel the warmth and joy from all of their guests — friends were hanging by the pool, family sat together talking on patios, and you could just sense from all the laughter and chatter that this was going to be a good day.

Ellen and Kevin started their day by getting ready together in their room, then surprised their guests with an impromptu first look at the pool. As we wandered around the inn to take photos, I loved watching all of their guests light up as they walked by — it was easy to tell that these two were loved so much.

The afternoon started with pre-ceremony cocktails (future couples, take notes!), where these two were able to officially greet all of their guests. Once everyone had arrived, guests were seated for the ceremony, which took place between the two dinner tables to honor their love for a shared meal. After a quick “I Do” with their sisters as officiants, they kicked off their party with a toast under the tent.

The rest of the evening was spent listening to a group poem from Ellen’s family, eating a stunning meal by the team at Dig and Serve, screaming the Cranberries under the tent, and ended with a nightcap at the hotel bar. Weddings and people like this are exactly why I love this job so much.
